The reason stereotypes are unhealthy is not just that they’re untrue for a large part of the stereotyped population, but (more importantly) that each person is made up of so much more than the traits stereotypes describe. To break the Asian stereotype, rather than giving examples of assertive Asians/Asians that hate math/Asians that don’t speak an Asian language, wouldn’t it be better to give examples of Asians who seem to fit the stereotype but are actually so much more than a math-loving Asian-language-speaking submissive Asian person? Tell the stories of real people instead of using counter-stereotypes to counter stereotypes - they might look like they work well but they’re defeating the purpose
